The Directorate of Air Navigation and Technical Services (DANTS) is responsible for the provision of air navigation services in the Zimbabwean airspace that comply with National regulations and International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and recommended practices (SARPS). The Division is composed of three departments namely Air Traffic Services,  Technical Services and Aeronautical Information Management.
The Role of AIM is to ensure the timely flow of Aeronautical Information necessary for the Safety, Regularity and Efficiency of National/International Air Navigation. AIM collects, collates, assembles, edits, formats, originates, publishes and distributes Aeronautical Information/ Data necessary for Safety, Regularity and Efficiency of Air Navigation concerning the entire Zimbabwean Airspace.

Aeronautical data and aeronautical information is provided either as digital data sets or as a standardized presentation on paper or electronic media. Aeronautical information products include:
NOTAM (Notices to Airmen) – The International NOTAM Office (NOF) is responsible for the promulgation of NOTAM and facilitates the international exchange of NOTAM. Access to NOTAM can be given to interested parties upon filling theÂ
- online flight planning
- Flight Planning  – Provided online, by telephone or at the AIM aerodrome unit at airports manned by the CAAZ. online flight planning
Aeronautical Information products – AIM Headquarters is responsible for collection, collation, compilation, processing and dissemination of aeronautical data through regular updates to the:

- Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) (click here to view circulars) and
- Aeronautical Charting. Â

The Department is responsible for the provision of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Flight Information Service (FIS) Â to ensure a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic. The department is also responsible for the provision of Aeronautical Search and Rescue services.
Technical Services Department is responsible for the process of safely and efficiently getting an aircraft from its origin to destination through the aid of reliable Communication, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems.

The Department is responsible to:
- Procure, install, commission and maintain CNS/ATM systems in Zimbabwe.
- Provide voice communication services throughout the Zimbabwean air space using Extended VHF radios which are linked by terrestrial communication system.
- Give reliable and efficient flight data processing service for different clients using an extended Air traffic service Message Handling System (AMHS).
- Give navigation service by ensuring the reliability, integrity, and availability of air navigation aid systems (DVOR/DME, CVOR/DME, NDB) which are used for en-route, approach and terminal purpose and ILS (GP, LLZ, Markers, and low power DME) for landing purpose at airports and in the Zimbabwean air space as per ICAO requirement.
- Provide flight calibration services for all air navigational equipment (DVOR/DME, CVOR/DME, ILS) and ACZ facilities (PAPI and approach lights).
- Provide Surveillance service using the latest technologies of Radar (PSR/SSR) and ADS-B that gives full and up-to-date information of aircrafts flying within the Flight Information Region (FIR) of Zimbabwe.
