Air Navigation Charges

Any person who flies any form of aircraft , including gliders, micro lites, balloons, etc) within the Flight Information Region (FIR) shall be liable to pay enroute navigation fees calculated on the following basis:

C= P x W x D, where-

C: represents fee payable;

P: represents service unit price, presently US$20.00;

D: represents shortest distance in nautical miles between airport of departure or point of entry into the FIR and the destination airport or point of exit out of the FIR, divided by a factor of 100;

10 nautical miles shall be subtracted for every landing and every take off from an airport owned and manned by the Authority.

W: represents the weight factor as given below:

NB. The minimum fee irrespective of application of formulae shall be $10

In respect of flights that are conducted solely for the purpose of :

Recreation (gliding,parachuting,ballooning etc.)

or,

Training (training on instruments, general flying,circuits,etc.)

The fee for each training period flown shall be  US$10 for both Zimbabwean and foreign registered aircraft.

 

All other flights not covered in the above categories, the usual formula shall apply in the calculation.
