ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Energy conservation and sustainability are critical elements that require monitoring simply because energy consumption is a major contributor to environmental degradation. The planet’s energy supplies are finite. Cost effective ways to reduce energy consumption and environmental damage are required thereby the need to develop sustainable energy consumption practices for the future.

Airports have a high usage of electricity. Power is required for lightings, ventilation and temperature control of the terminal building. Apron vehicle movement together with aircraft support equipment all contribute to the high energy usage at airports

SKY IS THE LIMIT INITIATIVE

The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe partnered Puma Energy and other stakeholders namely fastjet, Redan Coupon and Love for Africa, in rolling-out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called The Sky Is the Limit. The initiative aims to expose children, who wouldn’t otherwise have the chance, to the world of aviation, thereby fuelling their ambition to one day venture into careers in aviation.
