Civil Aviation Act (Cap13:16) (7/1998)
The Act provides for:
- establishment of the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, its objects, functions and powers;
- appointment of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive;
- financing and audit of the Authority;
- investigation of occurrences; and
- implementation of the provisions of the Chicago Convention in Zimbabwe.
Civil Aviation (Air Navigation) Regulations (Statutory Instrument 151 of 2004)
Civil Aviation (Air Navigation) Regulations (Statutory Instrument 151 of 2004)
Statutory Instrument 151 of 2004 provides for-
- personnel licensing and certification;
- registration of aircraft;
- airworthiness certification;
- certification of aviation training organizations;
- certification of aircraft maintenance organizations;
- provision of required instruments and equipment;
- regulation of flight operations;
- air operator certification and administration;
- regulation of the operations of foreign air carriers within Zimbabwe; and
- regulation of aerial work.
Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations (Statutory Instrument 204 of 2006)
Statutory Instrument 204/2007 provides for-
- functions of the civil aviation security policy and regulatory division;
- establishment of the civil aviation security programmes at national, aerodrome and air operator levels;
- establishment of the civil aviation committees at national and aerodrome levels;
- powers and functions of the civil aviation security service;
- control of restricted areas; and
- handling of dangerous articles.
Civil Aviation (Aerodromes) Regulations (Statutory Instrument 157 of 2007)
Statutory Instrument 157/2007 provides for?
- classification of aerodromes;
- registration and certification of aerodromes;
- safeguarding of aerodromes;
- regulation of aerodrome operations;
- notification of aerodrome information for publication;
- obligations of the aerodrome operator;
- powers of the authority;
- erection of tethered balloons; aerodrome offences and penalties
Air Services Act (Cap 13:01) (1968)
The Act provides for the licensing of air operators, regulation of charter air services and appointment of the Air Services Board.
Air Services Regulations,1971 (Statutory Instrument 582/71) Statutory Instrument 582 of 1971 provides criteria and procedures for the licensing or authorization of air services.
